Expert team

Kinesiology expertise beside every coach

Behind MovIQ is a team of kinesiology professionals — experts in the science of human movement. We turn what we know about how children and young people grow, develop and train into practical guidance, so clubs and coaches can raise healthier, better athletes in every generation.

MovIQ is more than an app. You get an expert partner who guides the whole process — from choosing the tests to the training session — and a platform that remembers all of it.

  • Health before results

We spot movement limitations, asymmetries and injury risk early, so training starts from what each child actually needs.

  • Development that fits the age

Alongside chronological age we track biological maturity — peers don't grow at the same pace, and training has to respect that.

  • The coach at the centre

We don't replace the coach; we empower them with knowledge, data and recommendations they can use at the very next session.

How it works

Five steps from the field to the training session

We guide you through the whole cycle — from choosing the tests to training that delivers. Each step builds on the previous one, and everything is remembered for next season.

  1. Needs and custom battery

Together with the club or association we set goals and build a test battery for your sport and age groups.

  2. Booking and preparation

The club books a slot on the testing calendar, MovIQ calculates the duration, and our team prepares the session.

  3. Testing in the field

Kinesiology professionals run the measurements to a standardised protocol and enter results straight into the platform.

  4. Interpretation and report

Levels, profiles, biological maturity and asymmetries are calculated automatically, and the expert adds their conclusion.

  5. Training and coach education

Individual and group training recommendations, plus coach education for putting them into practice.

Why MovIQ

A number alone says nothing. Progress says everything.

On a paper form, 2.21 s in a sprint is just a number. Is it good for a twelve-year-old girl? Is it better than last autumn? What should the coach work on? MovIQ answers all three questions — automatically, professionally and for every athlete individually.

Comparable

Every result is compared with reference values for the athlete's exact chronological age and sex on the day of testing — not with the team average.

Remembered

The raw result is kept for good, together with the version of the methodology it was rated by. A report from three seasons ago looks the same today.

Turned into work

Deficits become up to three priority goals and a pool of suitable exercises. The coach knows exactly what to work on and how.

Platform

A platform that remembers everything — and grows with you

The MovIQ app is the tool we work in together with your club: every athlete's results, profiles, recommendations and history live there. It is adaptable — we add new tests, batteries and reports as our clients need them.

01Interpretation

Enter what you measured. MovIQ knows what it means.

Built-in reference tables turn every result into a level I–IV and show the band boundaries — athletes and coaches see how far it is to the next level.

  • Tables by chronological age and sex on the day of testing
  • BMI, biological maturity (PHV) and WHO percentiles for height and BMI
  • Left/right asymmetry in per cent — an early sign of injury risk
  • Compensations and findings recorded with the test, including the side of the body
  • Pain and interrupted tests flagged as warnings, not as results
  • Professional judgement has the final say: a level can be overridden with a justification
Illustration of result entry: a 10 m sprint with an automatically assigned level and the distance to the next level, triple hop asymmetry and compensations ticked in the Single Leg Squat test.

02Profiles

The whole athlete on one screen

Levels from individual tests combine into profiles that show at a glance where an athlete is strong and where they need help. Every profile can be recalculated if the inputs change.

  • Functional status FS0–FS6 from the mobility × functional screening matrix
  • Motor profile across five abilities: explosive strength, acceleration, maximal speed, change of direction and functional symmetry
  • Energy profile from the 20 m Shuttle Run (Beep) test
  • Radar chart compared with the club group and the reference group
  • Recommended re-test interval based on functional status
Illustration of the functional status matrix: the mobility level and the functional screening level determine a status from FS0 to FS6, with a recommended re-test interval.

03Long-term tracking

Progress you can see, season after season

MovIQ's core value is memory. Every testing session joins the athlete's timeline, and the reference band moves as the athlete grows — progress is always measured against what is expected for their age.

  • Timeline of all of an athlete's testing sessions
  • Trend per test with the level for every point
  • Comparison with the previous session: progress and regression per test
  • Asymmetries over time, for early risk detection
  • History of medical examinations and memberships by season

04Training

Individual and group training built on results

Results become training goals and a pool of suitable exercises for every athlete, drawn from a library of 964 exercises. On that basis our experts propose individual and group training, and the coach delivers and adapts it for their group.

  • 44 goals in three taxonomies: 16 motor, 6 energy and 22 functional
  • Up to three priority goals per athlete — functional work comes first when the status calls for it
  • Filters by level, functional status, age and biological maturity
  • Recommended dosage (sets × reps) for functional exercises
  • Group training in stations — corrective, mixed and developmental — by functional status
  • Recommendations are stored with the testing session and exported to PDF

Administration

And everything else an association needs

Testing is the heart of MovIQ, but around it sits the whole administration of a sports association — without spreadsheets or paper.

Testing slot booking

Pick the groups, MovIQ calculates the duration from the number of athletes, and you choose the day and start time. The 90-minute gap between sessions holds even when two clubs book at the same moment. Confirmation arrives by email.

A report that shows where help is needed

A cross-section of the testing session by group: average profile, weakest and strongest ability, athletes at FS4+, the spread of biological maturity and warnings. Every distribution shows its sample size, so averages never mislead. PDF export.

An athlete register without duplicates

An athlete is one person across the whole system, identified by their OIB (Croatian personal ID number). For a mistyped digit, MovIQ asks: did you mean an existing number?

Medical examinations

An examination is valid for one year; MovIQ calculates the expiry and warns 30 days ahead. It is entered once and is valid in all of the athlete's clubs.

Seasons and age groups

Season rollover in a single action: the old season is archived and MovIQ proposes next season's groups from the last one. Membership history is kept for every season.

Sports facilities and training schedules

A weekly training schedule per facility, Monday to Sunday in 30-minute steps — see who trains where and when.

Role-based dashboards

Everyone opens their own dashboard: the association sees coverage and trends, the club its groups, the coach their athletes and expiring examinations.

Passwordless sign-in

Methodology

A test battery tailored to your sport and age groups

The foundation is a standardised battery for the physical assessment of youth athletes covering six areas, with tests matched to age. On that foundation we build the battery you need.

Assessment areas

1Anthropometry

Growth, body build and biological maturity — the basis for interpreting every other result.

2Postural assessment

Posture and deviations that can affect movement quality over time.

3Functional screening

The quality of fundamental movement patterns and compensations that signal injury risk.

4Mobility

Range of motion in key joints and differences between the left and right side of the body.

5Motor abilities

Explosive strength, acceleration, speed, change of direction and functional symmetry.

6Energy systems

Aerobic endurance and resistance to fatigue.

+Custom battery

The standard battery is a starting point, not a limit

Every sport asks for something different. So we build the battery a club or association needs — and adapt the platform so new tests are recorded, compared and tracked across seasons too.

Let's talk about your battery
  • Tests specific to your sport
  • Adapted to your athletes' age and level
  • Additional assessment areas for your club's goals
  • A shorter battery for frequent re-tests

Scientific references

Height and BMI percentiles per the WHO Growth Reference for ages 5–19; biological maturity from the sex-specific equation by Mirwald et al. (2002).

Chronological age, not category

The table is chosen by completed age on the day of testing. The reference U-group (U10–U18) is kept clearly separate from the club's age group.

Reproducible

Each result records the methodology and reference-value versions — old reports stay the same even after updates.

Professional judgement comes first

Automatic interpretation supports the professional — it does not replace them. An overridden level applies everywhere, and the calculated one stays on record.

Who it's for

Association, club and coach. Everyone sees exactly what they need.

Permissions follow how an association really works: who coaches, who runs the club and who oversees. Access outside your own scope simply does not exist.

The whole association on one screen

Supervisor role · for sports association staff

Association staff get insight into every club in the association — without the ability to change data. Decisions about investing in sport rest on what was measured, not on impressions.

  • Testing coverage by club and age group
  • Results compared with reference values
  • Valid, expired and soon-to-expire medical examinations
  • Historical trends across seasons
  • Testing reports with PDF export
  • A dashboard with key indicators
  • Expert support in planning testing across the association
  • Test batteries tailored to the sports in the association

Exercise recommendations stay with coaches and clubs — they are a training tool, not a coverage figure.

The whole club, every group, one picture

Club representative

A club representative has every coach permission for all of the club's age groups, plus management of the club's structure and people.

  • Creates coaches and assigns a head and assistant coach to each group
  • Builds age groups by birth year and sex
  • Gets next season's groups proposed from the last one
  • Books testing slots and training times at sports facilities
  • Follows results and exercise recommendations for the whole club
  • Sees the list of the club's users
  • An expert partner and a test battery tailored to the club
  • Education for the club's coaches

Everything for tomorrow's session

Coach · age-group lead

A coach leads their age groups through the season. They do not enter results, but they see them in full — together with exercise recommendations for every athlete.

  • Group members, memberships and medical examinations
  • Results, levels, profiles and history for every athlete
  • Individual and group training recommendations
  • Weekly training schedule at the sports facility
  • Testing slot booking for their own groups
  • A warning when a medical examination is about to expire
  • Education in reading results and applying them in training
  • Expert support from our kinesiologists

Security and privacy

Children's data deserves the highest level of protection

MovIQ processes data about minors, so protection is built into the foundations of the system — not bolted on afterwards.

Every association separate

Each association is a separate organisation and a separate data controller, and its data is kept apart from the rest. Only what must be shared is shared: the athlete's identity and medical examination validity.

Scope by role

Coaches see their groups, clubs their club, and the association all of its clubs — read-only.

Passwordless sign-in

A one-time code arrives by email — no passwords to steal or forget. Accounts are opened by the MovIQ team, and coaches also by their club representative; there is no self-registration.

Minimal health data

For a medical examination only the date and validity are stored — no findings, diagnosis or institution.

GDPR compliant

Processing under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, with a data processing agreement with every organisation that uses MovIQ.

Locked and traceable

Completing a testing session locks its results, overrides require a justification, and every professional conclusion records who wrote it and when.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is MovIQ?

MovIQ is expert support and a platform for youth athlete development. For sports associations and clubs, our team of kinesiology professionals prepares and conducts testing, educates coaches and proposes individual and group training, while the MovIQ web platform interprets results automatically and tracks progress across seasons. It also keeps the athlete register, age-group memberships, medical examinations, sports facilities and training schedules.

Is MovIQ just an app?

No. MovIQ is an expert service and a platform in one. Our team of kinesiology professionals guides the club through the whole process: from choosing the test battery and preparing the testing, through conducting the measurements, to coach education and individual and group training recommendations. The app is the tool where all of this is recorded and tracked across seasons.

Who is MovIQ for?

Sports associations and communities that want to follow athlete development across all their clubs, club representatives who run a club and its age groups, and coaches who work with athletes every day. Each of them sees exactly what they need.

What does the testing cover?

The standardised battery covers six assessment areas: anthropometry, postural assessment, functional screening, mobility, motor abilities and energy systems. Each group is tested with age-appropriate tests, and we tailor the battery to the sport, age group and club goals.

Can you tailor the test battery to our sport?

Yes. We start from the standardised battery and, together with the club or association, build a custom battery: adding sport-specific tests, adapting it to the athletes' age and level, or shortening it. We adapt the platform to the new battery, so the new tests are recorded and tracked across seasons as well.

Who conducts the testing?

Testing is prepared and conducted by the MovIQ team's kinesiology professionals, following a standardised protocol. The club books the slot, and results appear in the app as soon as they are entered.

How does MovIQ interpret a result?

Every raw result is compared with built-in reference values for the athlete's chronological age and sex on the day of testing and converted into a level from I (above expected) to IV (well below expected). Height and BMI percentiles follow the WHO Growth Reference 5–19, and biological maturity uses the Mirwald equation (2002). The kinesiologist conducting the test can always override the automatic level with a written justification.

Do you train coaches?

Yes. Coach education is part of working with us: we show coaches how to read levels and profiles, how to understand biological maturity and asymmetries, and how to turn recommendations into training — for individual athletes and for the whole group.

Does MovIQ replace the coach?

No — it supports them. Our experts propose individual and group training based on the results, and for every athlete the app offers up to three priority goals and a pool of suitable exercises. The coach still leads the session: choosing exercises, setting the load and adapting it to the group.

Does MovIQ rank children?

No. The goal is not to find out who is best, but to see where each athlete is improving and where they need help, and to follow that year after year. Group reports therefore highlight training priorities, not rankings.

Do I need to install anything?

No. MovIQ runs in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Sign-in is passwordless: enter your email address and the one-time code you receive by email.

How is a testing slot booked?

A club representative or coach selects the age groups, MovIQ calculates the duration from the number of athletes, and the user picks a day and start time on the testing calendar. The app keeps at least 90 minutes between two testing sessions. The MovIQ team confirms or declines the booking, and the club receives the outcome by email.

How is children's data protected?

Each association is a separate organisation and a separate data controller, and its data is kept apart from the others. Everyone sees only their own scope: coaches their groups, clubs their club, and the association its clubs. For medical examinations only the date and validity are stored, never findings. Processing complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Can an athlete belong to several clubs?

Yes, in clubs of different sports. In MovIQ an athlete is one person identified by their Croatian personal identification number (OIB), so duplicates are prevented at entry, and for a mistyped digit the app suggests the existing number. A medical examination is entered once and is valid in all of the athlete's clubs.

Can several sports associations use MovIQ?

Yes. MovIQ was built for multiple sports associations from day one. Each association has its own clubs, users and data, while seasons and the standard testing methodology are shared, so results remain comparable.

How do we get started with MovIQ?

Contact us at [email protected]. We will arrange an introductory meeting, propose a test battery for your sport and agree the first testing date, and then set up your association, its clubs and user accounts.

Glossary

Physical assessment terms, in plain language

Short explanations of the terms MovIQ uses in reports and on the athlete profile.

Test battery
A set of tests performed together as one assessment. MovIQ starts from a standardised battery covering six areas and tailors it to the sport and age group.
Raw result
What was measured in the field, e.g. 2.21 s or 168 cm. In MovIQ it is the source of truth: every level and profile is derived from it.
Reference value
A benchmark that tells, for a given age and sex, which result is above, within or below expectations.
Level I–IV
Result rating: I = above expected values, II = expected values, III = below expected, IV = well below expected.
Asymmetry
The difference between the left and right side of the body, in per cent. A large difference is an early sign of injury risk.
Percentile
A child's position relative to peers of the same age and sex. MovIQ calculates it for height and BMI using the WHO Growth Reference 5–19.
PHV (biological maturity)
An estimate of whether a child is before, during or after the period of fastest growth (Peak Height Velocity). Peers of the same chronological age can differ in maturity.
Functional status FS0–FS6
An overall rating of movement quality and risk derived from mobility and functional screening: FS0 is a clear result, FS6 requires professional assessment.
Motor profile
A summary of five motor abilities: explosive strength, acceleration, maximal speed, change of direction and functional symmetry.
Compensation
A deviation observed during a test, such as knee valgus in a squat. It activates additional functional goals in the exercise recommendations.
Exercise pool
All exercises that pass the level, functional status, age and maturity filters for a goal. The coach selects and rotates exercises from the pool.
Professional override
A manual change of the automatic level by the kinesiologist, with a mandatory justification. The calculated level stays on record next to it.
